Port of Ridgefield Commission District #2 Vacancy & Appointment Application Process

The Port of Ridgefield is seeking to appoint an individual to fill a vacancy on its nonpartisan three-member Board of Commissioners. If you are interested in being considered for the position and live within the Port of Ridgefield Commission District #2 boundaries, please submit a completed application packet to the Port Commission at Port of Ridgefield, PO Box 55, Ridgefield, WA 98642. A map of Commission District #2 is available on the Port of Ridgefield’s website, www.portridgefield.org, and at the port office.

The two seated port commissioners will make the appointment by January 20, 2009. The individual selected will be appointed to serve until the winner of the next general election takes office, and that person will fill out the remainder of the six-year term, which expires December 31, 2013.

This is a volunteer position. The port commission meets 6:00 PM on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month; duties and responsibilities may require two to three meetings per week.

Port staff will give a briefing on the subject of this vacancy at the November 12th regular port commission meeting. The present schedule calls for application materials to be due at the port office no later than November 21st, and interviews with the port commissioners will be scheduled on December 3rd. This schedule is subject to change.

The Port of Ridgefield was formed in 1940 and is charged with bringing economic development to the greater Ridgefield area.
